The Harvest Cup unfolded as a rewarding day of competition and community, full of tight finishes, dramatic comebacks, and plenty of lessons learned. From early on the atmosphere was electric: teams moved between stations, the stream ran, and coaches and students adapted continuously as the schedule shifted. Even when plans hit a snag, the group stayed focused and kept the event moving with a level of organization and improvisation that made all the difference.
On the competition front, “Chima” from Middletown captured first place in the Arcadian solos bracket, a hard-earned result. The Mario Kart final was a nail-biter: Middletown staged a comeback to win the series 2–1 in a race that stayed tense until the last two races. Wizards Smash Blue squad secured a memorable victory over league rivals, with a standout individual performance from “Jayke” swinging a 3-1 match in the Wizards’ favor, and “Tabpol” taking games from both “Sanic” and “McGee”.
On the JV side, Middletown secured the win 3-1, with two matches clinched by their Inkling main, “Alex”. The Splatoon match could not be played because of technical difficulties and will be rescheduled; the Splatoon players handled the disappointment with maturity and resilience. Tough matches brought out fierce competitiveness and a bright camaraderie from all.
None of the day’s successes would have been possible without the many behind-the-scenes contributors. The stream lead, the operations and setup crew, those who stayed late to clean and organize, the results coordinator, students who made station posters, and the folks who supplied snacks and drinks all kept the day running smoothly. Their steady work, from setup to teardown, created the conditions for the players to perform and for the community to gather and celebrate the effort.
